Rohan Nicholas – Founder of Pan Dynamicx

Born and raised in the vibrant musical landscape of Grenada, Rohan Nicholas discovered his passion for the steel drum at just 11 years old. Under the guidance of one of Grenada’s top steel pan instructors, he quickly excelled, earning a place with the renowned Angel Harps Steel Orchestra. By 15, his extraordinary talent led to solo performances at prestigious hotels across the island.

In his early 20s, Rohan co-founded the band Hot Spices, expanding his musical journey globally with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. Along the way, he refined his skills as a dynamic vocalist and innovative music producer. His artistry took center stage in 2007 with the release of his debut album, Caribbean Pan Groove, followed by his holiday album, Little Drummer Boy.

Fueled by his passion for Caribbean music, Rohan established Pan Dynamicx Music Studio six years ago, dedicated to preserving and advancing the rich legacy of steel pan music across Canada. His unwavering commitment to music education, performance, and cultural enrichment continues to inspire the next generation of musicians.

Born to Trinidadian parents, Danielle M. George grew up immersed in Edmonton's vibrant Caribbean community. Taught steelpan by her father, Cecil T. George. At age 7, she now leads Trincan Steel Orchestra and hosts her own instagram Podcast, All Things Pan!. A passionate cultural ambassador, Danielle has performed across Alberta at events ranging from weddings to dignitary receptions. Her contributions earned her the Africa Awards, Artist of the Year and the NBCC Clarence "Big" Miller Award in 2024. Dedicated to sharing the joy of Caribbean culture, she also nurtures this love in her two sons.

Kai Nicholas is a passionate and dynamic Steel Pan performer based in Calgary. His musical journey began at an early age, and he quickly developed a deep connection with the Steel Pan and other musical instruments. The Steel Pan originated in the Caribbean emerging from the ingenuity and resilience of the Caribbean people in the 1930s. As the only acoustic instrument invented in the 20th century, it has become a symbol of Caribbean culture and musical excellence. 

As both a solo artist and a member of the Pandynamicx Steel Pan Band, Kai brings energy and artistry to every performance. His music can be heard at various events and markets across Calgary, where he captivates audiences with his skill and dedication.
